Day 24 - Sea Day - Boredom?

We had two years from when we booked the trip until embarking in Miami December 10, 2023. During that time, life kept us busy, planning progressed and friends shared their thoughts. A common topic was time management on ship days. The concern was finding things to do when stuck aboard ship. Perhaps the best explanation is sharing an average ship day.

5:00 AM - The day started with typical activities for people my age. Our port side balcony was positioned perfectly for viewing sunrise, so I grabbed a few sky replacement shots. Sent text messages to UPS pals Reg W. and Dave H. Joan and I discussed and planned the days activities. The idea for today's blog entry emerged.

7:00 AM - Windjammer deck 11 for brand muffin and coffee. Grabbed the usual table should travel buddy 'Ansel' Pete make it in for breakfast. Joe, my Safari partner, made contact regarding an upcoming 'Townhall Meeting'. Unable to make the meeting, I would take notes and share with him later. Started working on the outline for this post.

9:00 AM - Tropical Theater deck 5 'Townhall Meeting' for information and updates regarding latest Ultimate World Cruise news. Received vital procedural information regarding transition from sailing one to sailing two. Well attended.

10:00 AM - Rock Climbing Wall deck 13 for 'Walk Around the World' daily stamp. Rain, rain and more rain. All outdoor activities cancelled.  Outdoor deck access limited.

10:30 AM - Tropical Theater deck 5 for 'Destination Talk - Shore Excursions'.

11:00 AM - Shore Excursions deck 4 to select and book replacement excursion for Montevideo.

12:20 PM - Main Dining Room deck 4 for lunch. Joan and I met with 'Safari' Joe to review sailing transition notes and exchange foreign currencies.

1:20 PM - Ship encounter unexpected hurricane force winds and listed about 10° to starboard. Water entered several outer deck doors flooding several halls. Front elevators were shutdown, but the boat kept floating and sailing south.

1:30 PM - Tropical Theater deck 5 for 'Enrichment Lecture - Antarctica'.

3:00 PM - Tropical Theater deck 5 for 'Enrichment Lecture - Guilt and Innocents in American Justice'.

4:00 PM - Business Center deck 7 to create draft 'Day 24' entry in Blogger. Helped fellow cruises with technical issues.

5:45 PM - Main Dining Room for steak dinner.

7:30 PM - Customer Services deck 4 to review account charges before closing sailing one account.

9:00 PM - Cinema deck 6 for 'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One'.

11:55 PM - Our Cabin deck 7 for quality PJ time.

To sum it up, boredom is a frame of mind.  Life is what you make it. Seek out life enjoying even the simplest of moments and boredom will not be an issue.
